Come to our debut gig on 11th May 2024!

Where:

The Railway pub in Greyhound Lane, Streatham Common, London SW16 5SD. It's right next to Streatham Common overground station (1 stop from Balham Underground).

When:

From 7:00pm on Saturday, 11th May 2024.

Special guest:

We aim to play gigs with a variety of guests such as sax players, trumpeters, singers etc. Our special guest for this debut gig will be Steve Salkind (saxophones and flute).

Support:

We will be supported by Malteserz, an all-girl jazz band of year 7 friends. From Herbie Hancock to Charlie Parker, their setlist is packed with cool jazz standards. Led by the dynamic horn section with Ruby on trumpet, Cecily on alto sax, Amy on tenor sax, and Jackie on flute. Their ensemble is fueled by the vibrant rhythms of Rosie on drums, Immy on keyboard and Eliana on bass. (Please note there is a strong possibility these youngsters will steal the show!)

About jFUNK

jFUNK is a four piece jazz/funk project featuring Charles Mack (Guitar), Chris White (Drums), Martin Bush (Keys) and Sujay Jayaram (Bass). The band members have played on the London scene for many years for bands and artists including Noel McKoy, Sherry Davis, Bambus City Strut, Soul Grenades and others. They have played at various well known London music venues including Jazz Cafe, Roundhouse, Charlie Wrights & Pizza Express to name a few.
